Your account Signing in
Signing in
You sign in to the console with a password or through your company's identity provider. A password sign-in can also ask for a six-digit code sent to your email.
Who can do it
Everyone with an account. Your own sign-in code switch is yours to change; no role is needed. Whether the code is on, optional or required for everyone is decided by a platform admin.
Sign in with a password
- Open the console's sign-in page.
- Enter your Email and Password, then choose Sign in.
- If a code is owed, enter it. See below.
If your deployment can send email, Forgot your password? appears beside the password box.
Sign in with single sign-on
- On the sign-in page, choose Continue with SSO.
- Enter your Work email and choose Continue with SSO again.
- You are sent to your identity provider. Sign in there, and you land in the console.
Your address's domain decides which workspace's provider you reach. Your administrator sets this up; see Single sign-on. If your workspace requires it, a password sign-in is refused with "This workspace signs in with single sign-on. Use Continue with SSO."
Reset a password
- Choose Forgot your password?, enter your Email and choose Email me a reset.
- The page says "If … has an account with a password, an email is on its way. It works for 30 minutes." It says the same whether or not the address has an account.
- Open the email and set a New password of at least 12 characters. The page warns "This signs the account out everywhere."
- Sign in with the new password. A reset does not sign you in, and it ends every session the account had. You get an email telling you the password changed.
An account that signs in only through single sign-on has no password, and no reset email is sent for it.
The sign-in code
When a code is owed, the page says Check your email and "Enter the 6-digit code sent to the address you entered."
- A code works for 10 minutes and allows 5 attempts.
- You can ask for a new one a minute after the last. At most 5 codes are sent in an hour.
- The code only works in the browser that asked for it.
When the platform setting is Optional, you choose whether to be asked:
- Open the account menu at the foot of the sidebar and choose Sign-in code. The row appears only when the code is on, or when you are allowed to turn it on.
- Switch Ask for a code when I sign in on. It saves at once, with the line "Emailed after your password."
- To switch it off, enter your current password under Password and choose Turn off. The dialog says "Your current password turns it off." Turning it off needs the password so that an open session on a shared machine is not enough.
When the setting is Required, the switch is on and disabled, with "Required by your administrator."
